My Little Bo Has Passed Away
by Mike & Bo Tue Jan 12, 2010 4:49 pm

I type this as tears are coming down my face. Bo went downhill late yesterday
and today, he never got off the couch since yesterday afternoon, didn't want any
food, and only drank a few drops of water. I knew that the time had come, I
couldn't let him go on like that any longer. I had made an appointment for 230pm
with the vets. I spent all the morning and early afternoon on the couch with
him, doing everything that I could to make him comfortable. My sister and our
friend came at 210pm, I was in the back seat with Bo petting him and talking with him.
Bo was very calm the whole way out to the vets.
Once at the vets they had given him a sedative and placed us in the private room
where we had time with Bo, talking to him, petting him and saying our goodbyes.
The vet came in and put the injection in him and within seconds my little boy
crossed over to Rainbow Bridge to meet his sister Tiger. I said my personal
goodbyes to him, telling him how he gave me the most wonderful 19 years of my
life and how much I am going miss him.
Losing Bo will be very hard on me, as Bo and Tiger were my "babies" for 15 and
19 years.
I want to thank everyone who has said kind words and offered me suggestions and
encouragement since Bo was diagnosed with cancer. I will make copies of those
and always treasure them, you guys and kittes are the best supporters, always
there when I needed any kind of help.
When Bo was diagnosed with diabetes in October 2008 I said to him: "We're going
to become a team and try to beat this diabetes". Today I lost a very important member of the team.
I Love You Bo
Mike & Angel Bo
In a few days I am going to make some sort of tribute to Bo and I would like to
share it with everyone.

Oh Mike, I am crying too...it really hurts to lose someone that you have had for
so long...and the bond from taking care of them with an illness is even
stronger. At least poor Bo no longer has pain, he is running free and waiting at
the Bridge.

I am deeply saddened by the loss of your beloved Bo. It is clear from your posts
how much you loved your guy, and how much he loved you back. You were by his
side to the end, where he was able to pass quietly in your arms. He will be
missed here by all of us here in Lantus Land.

Mike, I am so very sorry for your loss. Bo will be waiting for you one day at

Oh Mike. Oh, Mike. You are an astounding person. Thank you for all you've done
for Bo, and for all your hurt now, how many years of love and memories you have
stored away. You were blessed to be teamed up with Bo, and he with you. And I
imagine Bo is now hanging out at the Rainbow Bridge, telling all the beloveds
how wonderful his bean was, how he misses his bean, and how much his bean loved
him to let him go now.
Be easy, Mike, and know that you've been a team leader, and a partner, for many
years. Bo will be waiting for you, of that I'm sure. Love never dies.
Esse sends her loves along, too...and you will be in my prayers. Best Michele

I am so very sorry to read about your loss. I lost my last kitty of 17 years to
cancer and I was so devastated and I am remembering all of the mixed feelings
that you must be feeling now. I know that there are no words that will make it
better, only time... and making a memorial to Bo will really help. I did that
for my Chance also and I still have it to look at when I really need it. If you
don't know about it already, http://www.petloss.com has special Rainbow Bridge
candle ceremonies and lots of ideas for people that are suffering a loss. I've
been there often. Another thing that helped was something that my then vet said
to me and that more than applies to you "Chance always trusted you to do what
was best for him throughout his whole life. Please don't stop doing that when it
really counts". I didn't, and you didn't and God bless you for that. Hang in
there, Mike. ♥

You and Bo were a team for sure! 19 years, he loved you and you loved him. My
heart was heavy with sadness when I read he was sick. I couldn't help but think

I'm so sorry to see that you had to say goodbye to your sweet Bo - but what a
long and wonderful time you had together - even though it's never really long
enough for us. Now he and Tiger are young and running free together again,
thanks to your love. We work so hard trying to see them through the diabetes and
then this monstrous "other" disease steps in and takes them away. It seems so
unfair sometimes.
I'm sending healing vibes and comforting prayers your way - I'm sure the
wonderful memories and love you shared with both these kitties will help to
comfort you and hopefully help to fill the hole left in your heart and life.

Mike, I'm so sorry to read this. You gave him a wonderful home and have shown
him so much love. I would like to read more about him and your time with him
when you are ready to post a tribute.

The following condolences are from family and friends
Mike & Family,
So very sorry for your loss of "Bo". He was a cat full of spirit! and I'm sure he knew how lucky he was to have a dad like you.
Sincerely, Karen and friends at Portsmouth Veternary Clinic.

On The Loss of Your Pet
We love our pets because they are somehow like ourselves, only with more innocence and trust. I know how much your pet meant
to you and how hard it must be for now.
With Caring Thoughts, Sincerely Kathy L

It's so hard to lose a faithful furry friend. They have a place in our hearts unlike any other. They make us laugh,
teach us the importance of living in the moment, and amaze us time and time again with their unconditional love. As
friends go, pets are some the life's best. . . and they will never be forgotten.
With Sympathy,
Betsy H & Deb P

Words cannot express all the sorrow others share. . .or the sympathy sent to you in your loss. Mike, we're so sorry to
hear about Bo. I know how painful it is to lose him; but you were a wonderful Dad. Just wanted to let you know we're
thinking about you.
Deb K & Sandy

Sorry to hear that you have lost a member of your family. Sounds like Bo had a good life.

Hi Mike, I'm so sorry. Thank you so much for this beautiful slide show. I watched it 3 times now with so much emotion,
but even through tears I couldn't help but smile at the cute pictures of him inside boxes, bags, and
drinking out of the tub faucet. It brought back so many memories of my boy Cubby. Although we miss
them everyday, we have so many beautiful memories to cherish. They may be gone but they will
never be forgotten, and will remain forever in our hearts.
Thanks again for sharing something so precious with me.
Take care Mike.

Lisa S

I'm so sorry. Bo is at peace and has no more pain, but I know that your heart is broken right now. I am praying for you.

So very sorry to receive your sad news. The slide show was fabulous. What wonderful memories you have captured.
You have so much love for your pets. I hope you will give Bo some grieving time and then, perhaps,
consider adopting from the shelter. I understand caring for Bo these last few yrs has restricted your comings
and goings but there's much to be said for entering your home and having some furry friends to welcome you.
You have too much love not to channel it into another animal that needs it. If you took on another pet,
I am only around the corner and I will help with its care during times you wanted to be away from the house.
Affectionately, Carole

Sorry to hear about your beloved pal Bo... He certainly was your favorite guy!
I know you will miss him.. Take care of yourself. Very sad, and very hard to not have the love of your
life there with you... My thoughts and prayers go out to you!
Call if you need anything... You know, I'm still your greatest Pal

Dear Mike,
Thank you so much for sharing your love of Bo with me. The slide show in memory of his long life
is absolutely wonderful, and I loved all the great photos of Bo and his sister Tiger. They really must
have gotten along well together, because they were practically welded together in some of the pictures!
My husband Billy and I had to say goodbye to our beloved shaded silver Persian Tiffany Silver Chalice
on August 11, 2009, and we are still grieving her and longing to see her little face just one more time.
Like you, I did a video (not as good as yours), an audio of her meow so that I can hear her when I miss
her little meow, and did all sorts of tributes to her as my way of celebrating her life rather than
mourning her death. We were also blessed to have her for nearly 20 yrs.
I would like to send you some poems that comforted me when Tiffany left us physically- her spirit
will always be with me, as will your Bo's. I drew a picture of her, too, and would like to share that
with you as well. Please send me your home address, or I could send it to the Police Station
if you would prefer that.
What a lucky cat Bo (and Tiger) was to have you as companion and friend. We still have 3 elderly cats-
Harlequin, Sunny and Bennett, who are all nearly 17 yrs. old, so our home is in many ways a Feline
Nursing Home- but they are all so worth it!
Thank you again for sending me your tribute. I have watched it twice already and will watch it some more.
Perhaps Bo and my Tiffany have already met in heaven. We must believe that we will see them again some day.
With healing prayers, Judy S

Mike what an enjoyable piece of your family memories. They are so cute. Bo and Tiger had a wonderful
life living with you. Your were a great Dad and care giver. You will miss them until you will meet them again.

Mike, We were sorry to hear that you lost Bo. . .surely you will miss your devoted friend and companion.
We lost Bunnie when she was almost 21. It sure takes a while to fill that empty space in your heart.
Your slide show was very nice. Thanks for sharing with us.
